U6 Player Pathway
"Introduction Stage"
Stage of Development
For most players, U6 is their first introduction to organized soccer. The focus is on creating a positive, fun environment where children build confidence, develop basic movement and ball skills, and discover a love of the game.
Primary Focus
- Building confidence with the ball
- Developing coordination and fundamental movement skills
- Encouraging creativity, curiosity, and enjoyment
- Learning to participate in a group environment
What Success Looks Like
U6 players leave each season excited to come back, growing in confidence, becoming more comfortable with the ball, and developing a love of soccer through play, exploration, and positive experiences.
Program Structure
Players train together once each week in age-appropriate sessions designed to maximize touches on the ball and encourage active participation. Activities are game-based, engaging, and development-focused, creating a fun introduction to soccer without the pressure of league competition.
Competition
There is no league play at the U6 level. Small-sided games and activities are incorporated into training sessions to help players develop confidence, decision-making, and a love of playing.
Player Experience
U6 players train alongside their peers in a welcoming, low-pressure environment that prioritizes participation, engagement, and individual development. Every child is encouraged to learn, explore, and enjoy the game at their own pace.
Multi-Sport Participation
We encourage young players to explore a variety of sports and activities. Diverse athletic experiences help develop coordination, confidence, and a lifelong enjoyment of being active.
