Burlington FC (BFC) soccer club, a community-led non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, is seeking a highly motivated, dedicated and organized leader for the position of Executive Director (ED). Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for implementing the Club’s long-term goals and making consistent and timely progress to achieve the Club’s mission and strategic plans. The ED is responsible for all aspects of the Club’s daily internal and external operations to provide soccer and personal growth opportunities to players of all ages and abilities.
A strategic and visionary leader with integrity, credibility, and character, the ED serves as the public face of BFC. This person will promote the Club in our community and the interests of the Club at all times, demonstrating a clear and unequivocal commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI).
The ED will maintain a balance between professional business acumen and management, and will be easily accessible and maintain good relationships with coaches, parents, and players and volunteers. Ideal candidates will be those who embrace the mission of the Club, which encompasses athletic, educational and community-impact values consistent with the Club’s current and future objectives.

Strong candidates will possess the following qualities and background:
- Personal passion for youth development through sports; Soccer background and understanding of youth soccer landscape strongly preferred.
- Leadership, management, written and verbal communication skills.
- Fundraising experience, including grant seeking and grant writing, and securing sponsorships with corporate and small business partners
- Knowledge of club operations from a business management and operational side
- Ability to formulate and execute a fiscal year budget
- Organizational development acumen that includes building cohesive operational and administrative teams
- Ability to build relationships with members, staff, local businesses, sponsors, and community
- Proven success in recruiting, developing, managing, and retaining volunteers and staff
- Personal integrity and ethical character with ability to align staff and members with Club’s core values
- Willingness to work non-traditional hours, within a sports league atmosphere
- Interest in the BFC mission and excitement about sharing it with others
Key Roles and Responsibilities include:
- Create and execute strategic short and long term objectives
- Engage the community and businesses to raise funds for the Club
- Lead fundraising, partnership, and sponsorship campaigns
- Help establish and maintain financial objectives
- Prepare and manage programs’ budgets and allocate resources
- Lead and direct all professional staff in on-field and off-field operations
- Establish employment and administrative policies and procedures for Club’s functions and day-to-day operations
- Serve as spokesperson for Club
- Ensure all participants are meeting their financial obligations
- Recruit and hire all technical and administrative staff, in conjunction with Board of Directors
- Develop and distribute coaching and managers manuals with club policies and procedures
- Secure facilities and work with staff to create high quality training for coaches and players and increase developmentally appropriate playing options for a broad range of players served by the Club
- Create additional programming in the interests of enhancing services to our members attracting new constituents, and raise the profile of the club within the broader soccer community
